The Role

We are looking for a Licensed Cosmetologist to join our growing team. Whether you are a seasoned stylist ready to bring an established clientele or a newly licensed professional eager to sharpen your skills in a supportive environment, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide a full range of cosmetology services including but not limited to: cuts, silk press, blowouts, color services, highlights, treatments, and natural hair styling

  • Perform braiding, protective styles, and healthy hair consultations

  • Conduct thorough client consultations prior to services to assess hair health, history, and desired outcomes

  • Recommend and apply appropriate treatments (including head spa and scalp care services) based on individual client needs

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation in compliance with Washington State Department of Licensing standards

  • Build and maintain a loyal client base through exceptional service and genuine connection

  • Stay current on trends, techniques, and product knowledge through ongoing education

  • Collaborate with the Rafekees team in a respectful, professional manner

Requirements

  • Valid Washington State Cosmetology License (or proof of licensure in good standing from another state and willingness to transfer)

  • Proficiency in at least one or more of the following service areas: natural hair care, color, silk press, braiding, or hair treatments

  • Strong client communication skills — ability to consult, educate, and build trust

  • Reliable, punctual, and committed to delivering a consistent client experience

  • Ability to manage bookings, maintain client records, and handle transactions

  • Genuine passion for hair health and continuing education

Preferred but not required:

  • Experience with textured, natural, or color-treated hair

  • Familiarity with salon software or booking platforms

  • A growing or established clientele
